The Rukn Yamani, also known as the Yemeni Corner, is one of the four corners of the Kaabah and holds a special status in Islam. It is located just before the corner that houses the Hajar Aswad when moving in the anti-clockwise direction of Tawaf.

Among the four corners, the Rukn Yamani and Hajar Aswad are the only two that were part of the original structure built by Prophet Ibrahim AS. Because of this historical connection, many scholars consider these two corners more virtuous than the others.

Rukn Yamani

During Tawaf, it is Sunnah to touch the Rukn Yamani with the right hand if possible, without kissing it. The Prophet Muhammad SAW consistently practiced this action. If a pilgrim cannot reach it due to the crowd, there is no need to point or gesture toward it, unlike the Hajar Aswad.

Between the Rukn Yamani and the Hajar Aswad, pilgrims are also encouraged to recite a special du’a:

“Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah waqina ‘adhaban-naar.”
(O our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.)

The Rukn Yamani is more than a physical corner; it represents spiritual connection, humility, and the continuation of the Prophet’s traditions. Touching it is an act of love, a way to feel close to the footsteps of the Prophet SAW and the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim AS.
